The UK National Insolvency and Debt Advice helpine has pledged to re-route all debt enquires to its natioanal telephone helpline operation on 0800 074 6918.
The UK Natioanal Debtline Insolvency Helpline fear that, without the service, many people will find it harder to escape debt.
The UK Insolvency Helpline offers free, confidential, impartial and independent advice.
Ian Richards from the debtline said: " We have offered this lifeline because we fear some people are going to turn to perhaps taking out further borrowing or turn to fee-charging companies.
"We don't believe that, in the long term, that will help them.
"It may well be that people actually have nowhere to turn."
